Management of user games improved

With the number of supported tabletops passing the 100 some time ago, we finally took the time to give the user games page a major update. It has been reworked from scratch with a user friendly and more visual approach while concentrating on the games you own. We also try to help you discover new games based on what is popular on T³ and among your friends or just the newest additions to our database.

As the update introduced a complete new backend code, some unexpected issues may still occur. Please report any problem you encounter, so that we can fix it. We're also eager to get your overall feedback or ideas, how we could improve the page further.

You can reach your games page through your "Account → Your T³ options".

Issues with contact form

There was an issue with an update of the contact form, so that it couldn't be submitted. We cannot say for sure how long it was broken. Who has tried to send a message through T³ in the last 7 days and has not received a reply yet, should send his message again... just to be sure.

As a general note: All actions on T³ get confirmed by appropriate hints. If a confirmation is missing, something probably went wrong. Please inform us about such an issue asap. Use the contact, Facebook, Twitter or whatever message possibility is at your hand.

New terms and Premium account online

The new Terms and Conditions are in effect immediately. Every user can decline the new terms within 4 weeks starting now. In that case we are forced to delete his account with a time-limit of 14 days. We tried to make the terms as user friendly as possible, but also have to fullfill a number of legal requirements. Just ask if you have any question. The terms have been written in German. If a translation leads to any discrepancy compared to the German version, the German version is the deciding one.

Starting from now the new Premium system is active. You can find an overview on the differences of the user accounts in the Memberships section. Due to the simple fact that the whole system is brand new some errors and issues may occure. Please contact an admin immediately, so that we can fix it as soon as possible.

Final launch of the Premium memberships on 6th June

It took some time, but now we're really ready to go. We got all required stuff and most of the work is done. So the Premium memberships are going live on 2013-06-11. From that date on you're required to own a Premium membership, if you'd like to manage a tournament with more than 18 players.

As soon as coding and translation are 100% done, we'll set the Premium memberships live for early access.

Start of the Premium membership delayed - Update

We're still wating for our lawyer to work out the final details of our new terms, we have to move the appointed date to the 21st May. We hope that this is final. We cannot start without the final version of the terms.

Update: We could have guessed that this will happen. We're still waiting. So we have to postpone the launch until further noitce. As soon as everything is really done, we'll make a final annoucement one week before the update goes live.

Questions and answers about the Premium system

We added a FAQ category about the topic "Premium Accounts" based on your questions and concerns:

* Why don't you just take 1 Euro per player and tournament?
* Why don't you charge the players?
* We're a gaming club and organizing some tournaments. Do we need multiple Premium accounts?
* What about multiple organizers for one tournament?
* What happens with tournaments which are created before May 16th?
* The website was free to use for years. Why isn't this possible anymore?
* The Premium system can be abused easily. You're dumb?

Important announcement: Big changes ahead

On 16th May 2013 T³ will become officially 9(!) years old. Time for a brief look into the past, the present and most important the future...

Starting as a small, simple script for the sign ups of the first bigger tournament in Brunswick (Germany), the system was given to the public in 2004. Organizers all over the country were immediately interested. Developed in a lot of spare time over the years, first breaking country and than language barriers, T³ has risen to be a unique platform for tournament and tabletop gamers in general.

Talking in numbers sounds like this:
* More than 10,000 tournaments mit 150,000(!) participants
* More than 18,000 registered players from over 40 countries
* More than 900 gaming clubs with more than 6000 members
* More than 100 supported tabletops
* Around 40 GB monthly traffic created by more than 25,000 website visitors
* Quite a lot of support requests

Although the growth has slowed down for the last 2-3 years this is a huge bunch of work to do and therefore we have to make a massive change. We worked hard on possible concepts with the help of the users' and community's feedback and this is the final decision:

Starting on 16th May 2013 a tournament with more than 18 players cannot be managed anymore on T³ free of charge. Anybody who would like to manage a tournament with more players easily online, is required to own a PremiumAccount from that date on. This service will cost 30 € / 40 Fr. / 125 zł and last for one year. It's not recurring, so no need for cumbersome cancellations. During the year you'll be able to create as many tournaments of any size as you wish. Tournaments without online administration stay at no costs. It's needless to say that existing tournaments will not be touched in any way.

We know that this step won't make everybody happy, but we think it's inevitable and we're certain that it can work out. If we're able to set up a stable financing, this would give us the possibility to work on all those current issues and unused ideas we've collected over the years. The code base is ancient and has reached its limits. The design is not really state-of-the-art and waaay from modern standards and possibilities. The usability needs a cleanup all over the page and cool ideas for usefull improvements could finally be realized.

As soon as the final work and tests are done and the translations are online, we'll fire up the PremiumAccounts. They will be required starting on the 16th.

With your understanding and your support we can bring T³ to the next level.

New tabletops: Dust Tactics and By Fire and Sword

We extended our tabletop support:

The first new entry is Dust Tactics by Fantasy Flight Games. Being the "younger brother" of Dust Warfare it's taking place in the same universe using the same miniatures, but using simpler set of rules.

* Official homepage

The second newcomer is By Fire and Sword. It's widely spreaded in Poland and the heads behind the game just went to the Salute with an English version of the game rules. They're now trying to reach the international market with their Kickstarter.

Password security - part 2 - Update

We started to force users to update their password. Who hasn't updated his password yet, will be automatically redirected to the according form. If someone encounters any issue with this, we can be through the imprint.

At the end of the month we'll deactivate all accounts without a proper password. At this moment you can only recover your account by sending a new password to the enlisted mail address. Users not able to access those should contact an admin.

Update: Sorry for the inconvenience, but I made a mistake and all password changes for the last 2 hours didn't work out. This is fixed now.

Password security

There've been more and more reports about cracked websites and databases in the last months. We used the upcoming security awareness to update our security systems. It's needless to say that the current passwords are only stored encrypted in our database. Therefore we cannot update those.

We ask every user, who created his or her account before February 28th, 2013, to set a new password. To do this go to "Account" or "Your page" in the navigation and choose "Change password". The new password will then be stored with security standards being up to date.

Starting on April 1st we'll enforce all users to change their password. A login with the old one won't be possible anymore. Users who forgot their password can request a reset using the according feature.

The ususal notice: Please use a unique password for T³ and don't use it on any other website.

New tabletop - Blackwater Gulch

Another tabletop, which was crowdfunded and extended on Kickstarter, found its way into our database: "Blackwater Gulch - Gangfights in the Old West" is a skirmish and campaign game in a Wild West setting. The rules can be downloaded for free from the official website.

Tournament Awards 2012

Some users are wistfully waiting for them and here they are: the tournament awards 2012 (Click me I'm a link).

We congratulate all the organisers on their great events. The numbers have been close as ever. We know that the system has its flaws, so we ask you to don't take the results too serious. Please drop Blackhawk (see contact page) a message, if you've got any real concerns.

ETC 2012 - Update 2

It really took a while this time, but we finally managed to update our ETC page with the results of the ETC 2012. For now there're only the final standings, but we'll try to add the single rounds in the next days.

Update:
We added the results of each round for WHFB and W40K.

Update 2:
We finally managed to upload the Flames of War results. It took a while because we had to reconstruct the single rounds. We're hoping that this didn't introduce any errors.
